Maya Riso

Memory pressed through the stencil.

Maya Riso works in vivid duotone risograph, pulling each piece through community memory like ink through a stencil.

Layered grain, hand-pulled imperfections, and overprint registration shifts are the signature — every print carries the texture of the medium.

The process

Each piece begins with two or three contributions read aloud. Maya isolates the recurring color emotion — usually one warm, one cool — locks the palette, then composes around a single subject anchored slightly off-center. The grain and registration drift are baked into the source, not added in post.
